Moderate Resorts

There are five official Moderate Resort hotels at Walt Disney World. These mid-tier properties offer a balance of better amenities, water slides, and improved dining compared to Value resorts, but at a lower price point than Deluxe accommodations.

The complete list of Disney Moderate Resorts includes:

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

  • Theme: Relaxed tropical islands with vibrant colors and a massive fortress-themed pool.

  • Transportation: Acts as the central hub for the Disney Skyliner, providing direct gondola access to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios.

  • Consideration: It is a massive, sprawling resort with multiple internal bus stops, and its standard buildings lack elevators.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

  • Theme: Spanish, Mexican, and Southwest American cultures centered around a large lake.

  • Transportation: Standard Disney bus service.

  • Consideration: Features the Gran Destino Tower, which offers interior hallways, deluxe-style upscale amenities, and Disney's only moderate-tier Club Level rooms.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

  • Theme: Historic New Orleans French Quarter, complete with cobblestone streets, gas lamps, and jazz vibes.

  • Transportation: Disney bus service, plus a scenic water taxi to Disney Springs.

  • Consideration: This is the smallest and most compact Moderate resort, meaning very short walks to the lobby, pool, and single bus stop.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

  • Theme: Rural Louisiana bayou manor homes and rustic Southern backwoods.

  • Transportation: Disney bus service and a water taxi to Disney Springs.

  • Consideration: It has a peaceful, romantic atmosphere and offers unique "Royal Guest Rooms" themed around Disney Princesses.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

  • Theme: Rustic, wilderness camping luxury nestled in a protected pine and oak forest.

  • Transportation: Internal buses, standard park buses, and a water taxi directly to Magic Kingdom.

  • Consideration: These stand-alone cabins feature full kitchens and patios, though the resort is frequently co-categorized with Deluxe Villas due to Disney Vacation Club updates.
